Front yard landscaping ideas3/20/2023 Starting with the orange zinnia flowers you’ve already been greeted by a cheerful and bright seasonal flower. A truly great landscape is one that spans the entire property’s perimeter, uses symmetrically and keeps the eye engaged on every sight level. From the moment you pull up to this stunning entry you are greeted with beautiful color, perfectly manicured bushes and an array of trees that really round out the overall landscape. This week we are featuring another gorgeous home that truly understands the impact of curb appeal. The daisy-like flowers are produced from early summer to early fall in shades of orange, red and yellow, adding sizzle to the garden and attracting nectar-seeking butterflies. This perennial has a long season of bloom, and is used as a blanket flower. These cheery yellow flowers sprinkled in are Gaillardia, a genus of flowering plants in the sunflower family. We continued over with Lemon Sedum, Carissa Holly shrubs, geraniums and Sunshine Ligustrum.įor added decoration we filtered boulders within the bed. On the other side of their yard we built a similar bed and added in Magnolia trees that will grow in height to create a screen from their neighbor’s yard. Jeff Kern Designs installs artificial turf as an alternative to grass which carried out the modernity for this home even further. In this particularly project we were excited to bring in a favorite vendor that we love working alongside. In this picture, the tree that hides the gray wall box is a Sunshine Ligustrum. The ground covering we used a Lemon Sedum plant, and behind those are Carissa Holly shrubs. Centered is a tall planter that’s filled with Hibiscus for height, anchored by red Geraniums and filled in with Million Bell flowers and hanging Ivy. In this bed we planted a Rising Sun Red Bud tree to the far left that will grow to be about 12-15 feet in height. This back yard project was on a modern home that wanted clean simple lines to coordinate with the house’s design aesthetic. We’ve lined the perimeter of the pergola with boxwood plants and abelia. Moving along to the other side of the patio is a gorgeous pergola with climbing vines of wisteria. This collection mixes hues of pinks, purples yellows and greens to create a lovely display using geranium, million bells, dianthus, mexican sage and abelia. Creating a landscaping bed that borders pavement is a great way to add dimension as well as providing color and design. This cozy backyard patio is the perfect spot to relax and unwind while taking in gorgeous views in a secluded spot.
